VOLUNTEER
The Amarillo Zoo is seeking volunteers who have a love and respect for animals and a passion for serving the visitors at the Zoo. Of course, no prior experience is necessary — we’ll teach you what you need to know! It is people like you that help the Zoo share our mission of education, conservation, recreation and community while making sure the Zoo is a great place to visit!
REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be 14 years or older.

Ages 14-16 will require an additional form signed by parent/guardian.

Commit to one year of service.

Must complete 4 hours of service each month.
ANIMAL CARE
What do zookeepers do? Find out by becoming a keeper aid. Assist in the daily cleaning, feeding and other husbandry duties for the Zoo’s animal collection.
INTERPRETERS
Educate our guests about the animals at the zoo and the importance of conservation. Enrich the experience for families and school groups through informal exhibit interpretation, Zoofari Carts and animal enrichment activities.
